CWJC to co-sponsor event defending children’s benefits

The Cap on Kids – also called the Family Cap – denies welfare benefits to children conceived while – or soon after – the family received benefits. CWJC will join Representative Carlos Gonzalez, advocates, and citizens of Greater Springfield to help lift this "cap." Participants will hear from experts in the field and impacted parents about why we need to take action.

The event is scheduled for Mon., Oct. 30, from 5:30 to 7:00 at the Springfield Public Library. For more information, see the Facebook invitation.

The event is sponsored by the Campaign to Lift the Cap on Kids, which, aside from CWJC, Includes Jobs with Justice, Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts, League of Women Voters of Massachusetts, Mother Woman, Stavros, and the Massachusetts chapter of the National Association of Social Workers.
